I’m working my way through ‘The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up’, along with the other titles pictured below (Jesus Feminist for book study, a Chemistry textbook for tutoring purposes, revisiting Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil for the fifth time, The Pursuit of God for the first time). And while I like the concept of sorting by category and only tidying once in your whole life, I’m a little lost when it comes to getting rid of my books. It is true that I might not reread every title I own, but is that reason enough to get rid of them? I love my little library. I like lending out my books and encouraging my friends to read a good one. I WANT ALL THE BOOKS, OKAY? I’ll gladly get rid of the clothing and other home items that do not spark joy, but Marie Kondo cannot have my books. And I plan on keeping them scattered all through the house, like the proper book hoarder that I am.
