The past week or so has been quite the frenzy of graduation gowns and paper grading. My brother graduated from Wofford last weekend, and two sweet friends are graduating from Towson University this very day! My own students hurdled their way through finals, and I’m left with a stack of papers a mile high. Let the bittersweet celebrations begin!
Joe and I spent a whirlwind weekend in South Carolina watching my brother graduate, plus or minus 20 hours in the car. Being back at Wofford is always a little surreal. I snuck up to the third floor of Milliken, where all of my chemistry classes and labs were held, and grinned like a fool. It was empty and silent, but the walls spoke of so many memories. The rolly chair race board has been erased, but my picture still hangs on a bulletin. It was so sweet to see the place that held so many good times for me, and that John shares those very same spaces, too.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve been able to take some photos of two very sweet friends from Horizon, our church here in Baltimore. Dana and Rachel both graduate today, and I’m so thrilled with how their photos turned out. I’ve gotten to know both of them over the past two years since we’ve been in Baltimore, and their beauty and kindness really shine through. I’m so thankful for their encouragement, and for their friendship.
On the docket this holiday weekend – quality time with the Bailey family here in Baltimore, and assisting with my first wedding – eep! It’s a good day to have a good day.
