Friday was a day for celebrating – last day of classes for the spring and paying the remaining balance on student loan and the first of many softball games this summer.
Saturday was a day for laughing – hanging out with friends and making terrific spaghetti sauce and surprise visits from jet-lagged parents/Irish refugees.
Sunday was a day for restoration – early church service and crying our way through The Blind Side for the fifteenth time and sweet cat naps and long nature hikes.
And today is for vision – being up with the birds and getting to Trader Joe’s before it opens then meeting up with every other housewife at Target and pilates and quiet times and making a meal for a sweet baby mama.
It’s a day for puritan prayers,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess it all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,
that to give is to receive,
that the valley is the place of vision.
