Yesterday was one of those days that will go down in the book of things we’ll talk about in rocking chairs on our porch in fifty years. I decided yesterday afternoon that I wanted to walk on a beach. Somewhere, anywhere. A beach, any beach. So Joe grabbed the iPad, did a little research while I texted a local girlfriend for tips, and off we went to Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis. We walked the beach, took photos, ate oreos that Joe had accidentally left in the car last week, and just smiled. When the park was near closing, we headed over to a local crab shack with good reviews on urbanspoon and I ate my weight in crab soup. No regrets. It was nothing short of glorious, that afternoon filled with sand and sun. And that tall husband of mine, he’s just the icing on the cake. My partner in crime, the guy who doesn’t blink when I randomly decide I want to go to the beach, but instead jumps in to the spontaneous plan full force. I’m so glad he’s by my side.
