Glorious Morning Seventeen

Yesterday was a day spent in the kitchen. We’re talking cake balls, avalanche bars, chocolate chip cookies, homemade pizza dough, and some breakfast casserole. I made a huge mess and it was glorious.

I love that good things come from messes. Yesterday, some pretty wonderful things came from my kitchen mess. And many times in my life, The Lord uses what I would consider a mess to refine me. It’s always a little better when life gets messy, because constant perfection is boring. I have a hard time remembering that, mostly because I’m type A and love order, but also because we live in a world where a perfect image is so highly valued. But it’s about darn time I learned to embrace my messiness, in my kitchen and in my life. Because there’s always a good reward, especially when cookies are involved.
